Home Study Part 2

Wow! What a year! Looking back, March 2016 was the month when Bryan and I seriously started researching adoption and praying if this was the path God would like us to take. We did lots of research on different adoption agencies and made the decision to apply and go all in, we still to this day have zero regrets. It has been a great year of planning, filling out lots of forms, putting together paper & video portfolios, phone calls, adoption classes, fingerprints, and so much more. I am thankful for this process as it has opened Bryan & I's eyes to the opportunities and the thorough plan God has in place for each of us.

Almost 2 weeks ago now, we finished our part of the Home study. So last month was the first part of the home study where the social workers came to our house and we showed them around and answered all of their questions. Then last Monday we were able to go to the adoption agency here in Hawaii that is performing our home study and answer any more questions they had. They asked how Bryan and I met, how long we dated before we were married, how close the schools are to our apartment complex, what a normal weekend looks like for our family, and much more :)

The next steps for the Hawaiian Adoption agency is for the social workers to finish the report, send it to their supervisor for review. Then they send it to us and if it looks accurate they send it to our adoption agency that is going to be helping us with placement. Then they review the home study and let us know if the report is complete or if they need more information. Once we get the ok from our agency we get the document notarized and back to them!

Then everything is ALL SET!!! Then all we have to do is pay for the activation of our profile! Then our profile will be available for birth mothers across the US and we wait for that phone call :)
Of course we would like to go active the day our homestudy is completed and signed, but unfortunately money is still that driving factor. So Bryan and I are working hard at our full time jobs and trying to save as much as we can. I am kicking off my business as a Rodan  Fields consultant and have loved it as the products are truly amazing.  AND the Honu adoption puzzle fundraiser is still continuing. We are hoping we will have our finances in order by this summer to make our profile "active". It is so close now we can taste it and we are SO EXCITED!

For those that have asked about seeing the Honu adoption Puzzle progress a pic of the puzzle is above! We are almost half way to sponsoring all the pieces :) We have about 519 puzzle pieces left to be claimed if you would like to have your name on a puzzle piece! This fundraiser has been beyond what Bryan and I have ever imagined and we are so thankful. We are one step closer to brining our little one home! I promise I will keep you all updated! Cant wait for the next blog post to say "We ARE active"!!!

Thank you everyone for your continued LOVE & SUPPORT! It means so much to us!

Love and Aloha from our family to yours~~
