Soooo close

Gosh..you know how it feels when something is within reach but you still have to be super super patient?!!! Thats us right now! We have been experiencing tons of emotions including but not limited to: excitement, nervousness, some fear, guarding of our hearts, and just pure EXCITEMENT! We cannot wait to bring our little Honu Home!

We reviewed our home study and got that approved with our agency here in Hawaii!!! Now the next step is to get it approved by our "placing" agency. Our placing agency has received the home study and all our supporting documentation so within the month we are hoping to get the go ahead to put our profile active!!!! Soooo close! So how have Bryan and I been preparing/trying to not get too excited? We have been doing some harder hikes on the weekends, ones we think may be a little tougher to do with a baby in a carrier ;) We have been staying very busy at our jobs and working hard to save money! Now that our home study has been approved we can apply for adoption grants, so that has kept us busy as well! I always regretted not applying to more scholarships in high school so heres my chance to try to do as many as we can! Being able to provide for our family and be financially stable is such an important goal of ours!

I may have also been doing some preparing for baby by buying some gender neutral onesies, a couple books..ok a few more than a couple books ;), working on registries, a stroller & carrier, & a diaper bag. The essential things to have ready to go once we "go active". We feel so blessed that God has led us down the path he has. After a year since starting the adoption process we have learned so much about patience, love, relationships, more patience, each other, ourselves, and our desire to have a child join our family. Bryan and I have pushed each other to be better and to truly put our trust in God. Some days are harder then others as I have a tendency to get a little impatient. BUT we know God's plan is far greater than ours and we look forward to what he has in store for us!

My grandpa is working on the frame for our Honu Puzzle that we cannot wait to have hanging up in our child's room! So many amazing, TRULY Amazing people in our lives <3

We pray our next post will say "We...Are...ACTIVE and a waiting family"!!
Thank you for all of your continued love and support! We truly appreciate it.

Aloha & Love from our family to yours~
